Winterwedding of Sophie & Bob

Summers are always booked quickly. But winters? They stay a challenge. Still every year I have at least one couple that is crazy enough to have their big day during the coldest days of the year. And I absolutely love it! There is something about winterweddings, they are just a tiny bit more magical, there is just a tiny bit more love in the air than in summertime.

So when Sophie contacted me & letting me know that they wanted a decemberwedding with Christmas theme, I was so excited to capture it! We met up in spring to shoot some engagementphotos in the citycentre of our favourite city Ghent and we had loads of fun.

In december I was living in the French Alps, but I travelled back to Belgium for the weekend to shoot these lovebirds’ big day. We met up at Sophie parents house and we would meet Bob in the church where they would declare their love for one another. When Sophie’s mom placed the veil on her hair, both her mom and best friend couldn’t stop the tears.

Sophie & Bob have been together since forever. They were high school sweethearts, but on that day it was clear that they are still madly in love after all those years.

The final location was magically decorated. There were a dozen christmas trees with little gifts underneath, fairylights everywhere, even a sled! We had a superquick shoot close to the venue, so it would still be fun and no one would freeze. Since it was so cold, Bob held Sophie extra close, which was only beneficial for the photos ofcourse!

After a lovely dinner, heartwarming speeches and a beautiful first dance, I felt so much love for this couple. You have beautiful souls and I wish you all the happiness in the future!
